Dance and Advertising: How Does It Affect You? by Carla Walter

In this lecture and demonstration, Carla Walter, an associate professor in CLU’s School of Management, exposes the ways in which dance in advertising affects consumers – often unknowingly. Her new book Black Social Dance in Television Advertising: An Analytical History shows how dance is used to connect consumers to brands.

Street Meeting with Mark Wild

First Year Experience

Second in the series for the Spring First Year Experience (FYE), Mark Wild brings an historian’s viewpoint to the issues depicted in the FYE text Southland by Nina Revoyr. In her visit on Feb. 27, Revoyr reflected on the inner landscape of the people living in the Crenshaw District from mid-20th century to the 1990s. In this presentation, Wild will explore the development of Los Angeles through the “meetings” of diverse Angelenos.

Project 24: One Day in the Life

Multimedia students collect intriguing stories on three separate days from three places: the University (CLU24), the city of Thousand Oaks (TO24) and the metropolis of Los Angeles (LA24). Selections of their graphic design, photography and documentary videography will be on display.

The showcase features digital and interactive media produced by current multimedia students. The exhibit includes an interactive wall, iPad interactive media and 3D printing.

Project Subway's Third Show This Season
