Event Description
Candidates for bachelor’s degrees will be awarded diplomas during a 10:30 a.m. Commencement service; master’s and doctoral candidates will receive their diplomas at 2 p.m. Baccalaureate services will be held at 8:30 a.m. in Samuelson Chapel.
Undergraduate Commencement speaker will be Lois Capps, Congresswoman for California. Graduate Commencement speaker will be Eva Conrad, President of Moorpark College. An Honorary Doctor of Laws will be conferred on Capps and an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters on Conrad.
Undergraduate student speakers will be Christy Sutphen, a business major from Westlake Village, and Donald Conley, an ADEP Computer Information Systems major from Simi Valley.
Graduate speakers are Francine Sprigel, MPPA student from Thousand Oaks, and Lauren Looker, Ed.D. in Educational Leadership candidate from Ventura.
The Provost's Award for Academic Excellence (Undergraduate Valedictorian) is Amy Michelle Lever, an English major from Newbury Park.
