Please join us for a special book reading and presentation by award winning author Amada Irma Perez. Her books, published by Children’s Book Press, My Very Own Room/Mi propio cuartito (2000), My Diary from Here to There/Mi diario de aquí hasta allá (2002) and Nana’s Big Surprise/Nana ¡Que sorpresa! (2007) have been honored with many awards in children’s literature including the American Library Association’s Pura Belpré Honor Award, Tomás Rivera Mexican-American Children’s Book Award and the International Latino Book Award.
In 2010 Perez was commissioned to write a pre-K book, Desert Quails Hit Jungle Trails, for Pearson Education. In order to help students write better narratives, she published My Handy Writing Book: A New, Fun & Easy Way to Write Stories (2011).
