Basic Function
The Biology Department at California Lutheran University (CLU) seeks to fill an assistant professor position in Microbiology starting in the Fall of 2013. Special consideration will be given to candidates working in the area of microbial physiology. Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. and provide evidence of excellence in teaching, as well as a strong commitment to developing a research program involving undergraduate students. Teaching experience, postdoctoral research experience, and experience in collaborative grant writing are desirable.
Representative Duties
The candidate will be expected to work with other faculty to integrate modern molecular and cell biological approaches into the curriculum. The successful candidate will teach lecture and laboratory courses, including introductory biology, microbiology, and other courses in their field of expertise. Candidates with interests in interdisciplinary interactions and with abilities to contribute to interdisciplinary programs such as Biochemistry and Molecular Biology will be given special consideration.
