Video Helps Bridge the Gap

Digital media can help bridge the gap between learner and content by building new connections for delivering information. Here at Cal Lutheran a recent initiative is gaining momentum through the Computer Training department; the initiative supports faculty and staff who wish to deploy video technology to enhance content delivery. Here are some examples of how video can support the mission of the Universtiy:

In addition, take a look at this video about computer security created by Matt Rafferty from the University of Northern Iowa; Matt won the Gold Prize of $1500 in the 2011 EDUCAUSE Video contest: http://youtu.be/Aa89gGx3zWE You might also wish to enter a contest; EDUCAUSE plans to announce the next contest in spring 2012, with a submission deadline of spring 2013. Entry guidelines are expected to remain similar to the 2011 guidelines.
Interested in getting involved? Consider attending a computer training class (videography, video editing, uploading video to the Web, other). The Computer Training website maintains a monthly schedule of classes

Term: High Definition (HD)
Definition: generally refers to the resolution of digital video, with resolutions of 1280x720 and 1920x1080 being the most common resolutions referred to as High Definition
Example in a sentence: Janice elected to record her video in HD since many viewers are using a wide screen these days.
