MANNA Food Drive

Another way to contribute is to donate nonperishable food and canned goods. The Campus Ministry Office in the Samuelson Chapel, the science building lobby and the University Relations Office in the Pederson Administration Building will be collecting your items between the hours of 9 a.m.and 5 p.m., Feb. 20- 28, as well as in the Lundring Center at check-in on March 3. Due to the generosity of the Alan Feinstein Foundation, each food item will count as $1.00 towards the Crop Walk fund total and will be donated to MANNA.

Church World Service

The CROP Hunger Walk is a community-wide event sponsored by the Church World Service and organized by local congregations, raising funds and awareness to combat hunger at home and around the world. Up to 25% of the money raised will go towards local charities including MANNA, Catholic Charities, Conejo Valley Meals on Wheels, Westlake Village Meals on Wheels and Lutheran Social Services. The remainder will go towards alleviating hunger needs around the world. See www.churchworldservice.org. The Crop Walk is also on facebook.

In 2011, the Conejo Valley CROP Hunger Walk achieved a milestone an had over 700 walkers and raised over $54,000.  The 2012 walk had over 600 walkers and raised nearly $43,000. The goal is to meet or beat the 2012 effort in 2013! Walking is such a small price to pay for people in need.
