Fall 2012 Flag Football
Signups for IM Sports are due at 5:00pm on Friday, February 1st. The Captain's Meeting is on Saturday, February 2nd at 12:00pm in GSFC 253.
All games will be played on Thursday evenings from 6pm - 10pm. Teams compete in a 7-on-7 format and each team must have 2 or more members of each gender on the field at a time. The game consists of 20 minute halves with a running clock, on an 80 yard field. Touchdowns are worth 6 points and teams can elect to go for one extra point, or two, which is determined by the distance from the end zone. A first down can only be achieved by crossing the mid-field line.
Pepto Abysmal caps an undefeated season with Championship!
Fall '12 semester's championship game witnessed undefeated Pepto Abysmal taking on The Matty B's. Both teams had displayed excellent offensive skill throughout the playoffs leading up to this much anticipated game. However, the game got off to a slow start with both defenses limiting the opposition's offensive impact on the game. It didn't take long for both teams to find their rhythm offensively, and start racking up the points after making adjustments. The teams continued to exchange the lead up until when Pepto Abysmal scored with a few minutes remaining, and was able to hold off any comeback attempt from The Matty B's. The final score: 32-27 with Pepto Abysmal taking home the championship for a second straight semester!
