Mission Statement

In support of the values defined in California Lutheran University's mission, Residence Life will work to create a living environment that promotes and enhances student education opportunities by focusing on developing a respect for and connection to the CLU community.

Residency Policy

At California Lutheran University we are fortunate to guarantee housing for all full-time undergraduate students. The University views living on campus as an important part of a student's complete educational experience. Full-time students (12 or more units per semester), enrolled in a traditional undergraduate program are required to live on campus through their Junior year (90 or more units). Senior standing students can still choose to live on campus. All students who live in University housing are making a commitment to abide by campus policies, as outlined in the student handbook.

Exceptions to the policy:

• students who are married
• 23 years of age or older
• students living with their parent(s)/legal guardian(s) within 30 miles of the campus

Students may petition the residency requirement after 4 semesters of on-campus living by picking up the appropriate form from the Residence Life office.

January 4, 2013

Preferred Spring housing application date

January 11, 2013

Students can view their Spring 2013 housing assignment, roommates, meal plan, campus address information on their CLU portal.

January 20, 2013

Pederson, Thompson, and Mt Clef halls re-open at 9am

All new and returning students not in residence in the fall, may check-in between 9am-7pm in the Residence Life office

January 25, 2013

Last day to change Spring 2013 meal plan. Must do so by submitting an email to reslife@callutheran.edu by 5pm
