View of additional erosion control measure implemented by contractor in Phase III. Aggregate base installed to the north of the building to allow equipment and material storage during the winter rains and reduce sediment tracking in the building and on the perimeter streets.

Requirement: Reduce pollution from construction activities by controlling soil erosion, waterway sedimentation and airborne dust generation.
Implementation: CLU implemented Erosion and Sediment Control measures on site that follow the requirements of the California State Water Resources Control Board Order No. 99-08-DWQ and the state construction NPDES (discharge) permit. Compliance with these requirements included preparation of an overall Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) which laid out best management practices to prevent the construction contaminants from contacting stormwater and to keep any eroding soil from leaving the campus stormwater system, and regular inspections to ensure compliance.
